Neil Favell.

Neil Favell was originally from Cairns but moved to Brisbane in 1986 to study french horn under Neil Crellin at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. He graduated in 1988 with a Diploma of
Music after which he completed a Graduate Diploma of Music under Michael Dixon and Peter Luff. During his studies, Neil was appointed Principal Horn of the Qld Youth Symphony Orchestra.
In his postgraduate year, Neil was awarded the Conservatorium Brass Prize. In 2002, Neil continued to further his horn studies at the "Hochschule fur Musik Saarland" in Saarbrücken Germany. In Germany
Neil studied under Professor Xiao-Ming Han, Principal Horn of the Saarland Rundfunk and solo artist.

Neil has performed with the Qld Philharmonic, Qld Symphony, Auckland Philharmonia, Tasmanian Symphony, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and in recent years the Qld Orchestra on a regular basis. Neil also holds the position of principal 1st horn in the Qld Pops Orchestra. He has performed in many visiting stage shows including Les Miserables, The King and I, The Sound of Music, The Pirates of Penzance, Miss Saigon and Phantom of the Opera. Currently, Neil holds the position of Head of Brass Studies at the Hillbrook Anglican School in Brisbane and also enjoys being a French horn and brass section tutor for the Queensland Youth Orchestras. This is Neil's third season with X-Collective and is very excited to be part of their new show "Circus of Fools".
